Band website: site builder (Wix/Squarespace), Bandzoogle — or built from your band data?
Squarespace from 12 euros a month on the annual plan plus VAT, Wix from 16.66 euros including VAT, Bandzoogle from 9.16 dollars. What you get for it, what you still write yourself and when the site can grow out of your band data.

On the annual plan, a band website on the smallest plan costs 171.36 euros in the first year on Squarespace Basic and 199.92 euros on Wix Light, VAT included in both. Bandzoogle Lite costs 109.92 US dollars; whether VAT comes on top, the pricing page does not say. Wix and Squarespace prices are the ones on their German pages.
With all three builders you build the pages yourself and add every new show and every release by hand. You write the Impressum and privacy policy yourself or generate them with a tool from the provider. The fourth option: the website grows out of the data your band keeps anyway. Produser is our own product; what we say about it comes from us, and what we say about Wix, Squarespace and Bandzoogle comes from their pricing and help pages.

What does a website cost on Wix and Squarespace?
Wix quotes its prices including VAT and for annual plans paid in full at purchase: Light costs 16.66 euros a month, Core 29.75 euros, Business 40.46 euros. Other terms exist; their prices are not in the overview.
Squarespace quotes prices excluding VAT. On the annual plan Basic costs 12 and Core 18 euros a month, paid monthly 17 and 24 euros. You can cancel at any time; the cancellation takes effect at the end of the paid period, and the site stays up until then.
If you want to sell through the site, check the plan. On Wix, “Zahlungen annehmen” (accept payments) appears in the overview only from Core. On Squarespace, Basic can already sell, with a 2 percent transaction fee in the online store; from Core it falls away. Digital content such as downloads or memberships has its own scale: a 7 percent transaction fee on Basic, 5 percent on Core, 1 percent on Plus, 0 on Advanced. Card payment fees come on top on every plan: with Squarespace Payments 2 percent plus 0.25 euros on Basic and Core, 1.7 percent on Plus, 1.5 percent on Advanced.
Bandzoogle: prices and what the platform brings bands
Bandzoogle bills in US dollars. Lite costs 9.16 dollars a month on the annual plan, Standard 14.16 and Pro 18.33 dollars; paid monthly it is 11, 17 and 22 dollars. The annual plan works out at two free months. For a band paying in euros, the exchange rate on the day of the charge sets the amount.
Its strengths are cut for bands: a music player, a tour calendar and EPK templates come with the builder. You sell music, merch and tickets without paying Bandzoogle a commission, and the money runs through your own PayPal or Stripe account. The domain stays free for as long as the plan runs, and after 60 days you can move it to another provider. For a single press-kit page there is the EPK plan at 6.37 dollars a month on the annual plan.
The limits sit in the smallest plan: Lite allows 10 pages, 10 tracks and 100 photos, Standard 20 pages and 50 tracks. The first year on the smallest plan and on the annual plan therefore costs 109.92 dollars, compared with 171.36 euros on Squarespace Basic (144 euros plus 19 percent) and 199.92 euros on Wix Light. The three figures do not compare directly: Wix and Squarespace are shown here with VAT, the Bandzoogle amount without. From the second year you pay for the domain separately on Wix and Squarespace, because there it is free only in the first year.
Impressum and privacy policy: what the builder takes over
Whether your band website needs an Impressum, and what goes in it, is covered in Impressum for band websites. The builders take different amounts of that work off your hands.
Squarespace lists pages for the Impressum, privacy policy and terms on its pricing page for all plans, plus a built-in cookie banner. Wix offers the Trusted Shops Rechtstexter: an app that generates an Impressum and privacy policy from your answers and notifies you when the law changes. On Core, Business and Business Elite it is free for the first year.
Bandzoogle's help pages, updated on 14 January 2026, describe the platform as do-it-yourself: you maintain all legal texts on the site yourself, and Bandzoogle provides no sample texts or legal advice. You enter the text in a “Terms” field that appears as a link in the footer.
The builder supplies the page, you supply the details
A generated legal text is only right if your details are right: who is responsible, at which address and what the site embeds. Every embedded video, every form and every analytics tool makes the privacy policy longer.
Wix or Squarespace for a band?
Both are general-purpose builders with templates, a drag-and-drop editor and an online store. Wix advertises more than 900 free templates and quotes prices including VAT. Instead of a trial there is a 14-day money-back guarantee: you pay first and get the money back if you are unhappy within the 14 days. Squarespace lets you try it for 14 days without a card and includes legal pages and a cookie banner on the smallest plan.
If you embed players or videos from Spotify, YouTube or Bandcamp, the page loads content from their servers. Each such embed belongs in the privacy policy.
A website built from your band data: what changes
On Produser you keep releases, shows, videos and lyrics in the portal, and the website grows out of them. Publish a show and it appears on the site, in the sitemap and in the structured data for search engines, without you opening the website.
The portal builds the Impressum and privacy page from the legal details you enter once; empty fields do not appear. The sites set no cookies and load YouTube and Spotify players only after a click. On meltdown.band, the site of the first band on Produser, loading the music and video pages on 13 September 2026 sent no request to an outside server. A cookieless visitor count of our own can be switched on.
The limits: the site has no store of its own, so merch links out to your external store. The design comes from two templates, one page or several subpages, with your logo; without a logo the band name appears as text. There is no free-form editor. The multi-page template and your own domain are included in early access and will later belong to the plan with your own domain; otherwise the site runs at an address under produser.studio. We set up each band by hand, the first three months cost nothing, and prices will be announced before they apply.
The website from the portal
How releases, shows and legal details in the portal become the website is on the product page. A running example is meltdown.band.
Which website suits which band
For now you only need something to send to bookers
To start with, a well-kept streaming profile or a single page is enough. If it should be a page of your own, Bandzoogle's EPK plan at 6.37 dollars a month is the cheapest of the three builder options.
You sell music and merch through your own site
Bandzoogle, because player, store and tour calendar belong together and there is no commission. Or Squarespace from Core, where the online store transaction fee falls away.
You want to control every detail of the design
Wix or Squarespace. Both give you a free-form editor; the legal texts come as an app or as a page template.
You keep shows and releases up to date anyway and want to enter them once
The website built from your band data. Every change in the portal also appears on the site, the Impressum and privacy page included. A store is linked from there.
FAQ: Trial, commission and cookie banner
Can you try Wix, Squarespace and Bandzoogle for free?
Squarespace and Bandzoogle each offer 14 days free, without a credit card. Wix offers a 14-day money-back guarantee on all premium plans instead: you pay first and get the money back if you are not satisfied. Produser gives three free months in early access, counted from the day your project is connected.
Does Bandzoogle take a commission on sales?
Bandzoogle takes 0 percent commission on sales through your website. Payment runs through your own PayPal or Stripe account, whose fees still apply. On Squarespace the Basic plan charges a 2 percent transaction fee in the online store, Core and above none; card payment fees come on top on every plan.
Does a band website need a cookie banner?
That depends on what the page loads and stores in the browser, such as analytics tools, embedded videos or fonts from outside servers. Squarespace has a cookie banner built into every plan. The websites on Produser set no cookies and load players only after a click. For your own site, write down what it embeds before you decide on the banner.
The short version
The first year on the smallest plan and on the annual plan costs 199.92 euros on Wix Light, 171.36 euros with VAT on Squarespace Basic and 109.92 dollars on Bandzoogle Lite, the last without VAT. From the second year the domain comes on top on Wix and Squarespace. Squarespace includes legal pages and a cookie banner on every plan. Wix offers a Rechtstexter, free for the first year from Core; Bandzoogle a text field you fill in yourself. Bandzoogle sells without commission. A website built from your band data saves entering everything twice and brings the Impressum and privacy page with it; it has no store of its own.
Figures as of 2026-09-13, from the sources named below. What we say about Wix, Squarespace and Bandzoogle comes from their own pricing and help pages; Bandzoogle bills in US dollars. Which legal texts your own site needs is, when in doubt, a question for a lawyer.
